The Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) launched an initiative called the MDA Microfunding to encourage a research and development culture in the Interactive Digital Media (IDM) sector.

This MDA Microfunding supports exciting ideas with commercial potential pertaining to the field of Interactive Digital Media. An example of such IDM related idea includes Web 2.0 Services in the area of social networking and user generated content. MDA had administered NUS Enterprise in collaboration with the Garag3 to provide grant (of up to SGD$55,000) and advice to startup companies.
