We are looking for a junior web developer (0.5-2 yrs) to join us full time in our 9 month old startup to take charge and continue development of our web product – milaap.org.
This is your chance to move to a more responsible and independent role. You do not need to be an RoR expert but need to be familiar with open source web development framework(s) and should have desire to pick up/play with new technologies. RoR experience is a plus.
You will be working next to garag3 and would therefore be immersed in an environment of web-tech friendly people
and therefore this is a great opportunity to learn from peers.
You will be working with the founders closely to keep improving the basic web product and adding social features to it as well as more products in the future. This is an opportunity for you to work with a startup *and* create a direct social impact from the work you do.

We’re looking for an experienced frontend web engineer who has intimate knowledge of frontend web technologies. You should be an expert in Javascript / jQuery, and have dabbled with all kinds of UI / RIA frameworks like ExtJS, YUI, Flex, etc.. You need to have an uncompromising love and passion for fantastic UI, and you’re prepared tovoice out and debate your point of view.

Interns will be working to implement a MobDis Widget from conceptualization to implementation learning about the full SDLC process and will be able to see their work implemented in a platform used by thousands around the world. Widgets are pre built objects that provide a level of function and yet can be customised. Widgets in MobDis currently include a Feed reader, Store Locator and a Coverflow viewer.
